Why a roadmap beats random tutorials
Clear order, no guesswork
Every skill has prerequisites. Learn the wrong thing first and you waste weeks. Each phase builds on the last, so you never study something you are not ready for.
Free resources only. Each phase lists videos, articles, and exercises that cost nothing. If a paid option exists, it is marked clearly. The goal is to get you moving without spending money first.
Free resources at every step
Practice projects that stick
Watching a video feels like learning. Building something proves it. Each phase includes a project idea so you apply what you studied before moving on.
Self-checks before advancing
Each phase ends with a few questions. Answer them honestly. If you struggle, review the phase instead of rushing forward. Solid foundations save time later.
Common mistakes when teaching yourself something new
Skipping fundamentals to get to the fun part
It is tempting to jump straight into advanced projects. This usually leads to frustration and going back to basics anyway. The early phases feel slow, but they make everything after them faster.
Collecting resources instead of using them
Downloading 30 courses and bookmarking 100 articles feels productive. It is not. Pick one or two resources per phase and finish them before adding more.
Never building anything
Passive consumption has a low retention rate. Even a small project forces your brain to retrieve and apply knowledge. Build early, build often, even if it is messy.
Comparing your pace to others
Someone online claims they learned in 30 days. You do not know their background, prior experience, or how much they actually retained. Focus on your own progress bar, not theirs.
Giving up during the messy middle
Phase 2 and 3 are where most people quit. The excitement of starting has faded, and the results are not impressive yet. This is exactly where persistence pays off. Trust the roadmap.

A few things to know
What this page does
- Generates a phased learning structure for any skill you type in
- Suggests free resources and practice ideas for each phase
- Lets you track progress in your browser (nothing leaves your device)
- Creates a shareable link so you can send your roadmap to a friend
What this page cannot do
- Replace a teacher or mentor when you need real-time feedback
- Guarantee a job or credential (those require formal programs)
- Verify that every linked resource is still available (links change over time)
- Adapt in real time to your personal strengths and gaps
Questions people ask
- What if my skill is too niche for a generated roadmap?
- The framework still works. You get phases, project ideas, and checkpoints. You may need to find your own resources, but the structure of what to learn and in what order still applies.
- Can I edit the roadmap after generating it?
- Not directly on the page yet. For now, generate it, copy the text, and edit in your notes app. We are working on inline editing for a future version.
- Is there an account or login?
- No. Everything runs in your browser. Your saved roadmaps live in localStorage. Clear your browser data and they disappear, so export anything important.
- How do the time estimates work?
- They are based on common reports from learners and assume focused, active practice. Passive watching takes longer to translate into real skill. Adjust up or down based on your experience.
- Will you add more preset skills?
- Yes. New presets are added regularly. You can also type any skill you want, presets are just shortcuts.
